The Meaning of John Legend

You don't need to be a rocket Scientologist to figure out that we loooooove ourselves some John Legend.

And most of the folks on Urbandictionary.com seem to be similarly smitten. User-submitted definitions for "John Legend" include phrases like "Talented soul singer", "soulful talented brotha", "one of the sexiest guys alive" and, curiously, "big ups to john legend." **

But for one Urbandictionary.com user, John Legend has a very different meaning:

Umm . . . yeah.   First off, John Legend isn't the one who slaps his woman in the face in the Ordinary People video - it's an entirely different and not even remotely John Legendy black dude.  From this, we deduce that "Hyghtz" is a white guy - likely of the "all black people look alike" variety.  Moreover, the real John Legend is more likely to backhand the shit out of a tennis ball than a woman - and John Legend never plays tennis.   (Actually, I'm not sure that he doesn't play tennis; I'll have to check with him on that one and get back to you.  But I am sure he has never backhanded/open-handed/or any other handed his woman. So suck it, "Hyghtz"!)

Still, the notion of John Legend-ing the shit out of someone does have a certain appeal.  Especially if you adopt my meaning: slow dancing down to your draws' on a sweaty summer night.

HAHA I guess you showed me! Not only was the definition was a joke, I was a kid in high school being a dumbass on a funny new website I came across called Urban Dictionary. Your going off on me like you read that in the music section of the NYT. Get over yourself!
